The Badgers recorded their first home victory of the season Wednesday as they spoiled Northwestern’s chances at a share of the Big Ten title, winning 2-1.
With just four games remaining in the regular season, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team takes a break from conference play to face in-state opponent UW-Milwaukee. The Badgers (1-2-2 Big Ten, 3-9-2 overall) look to earn their fourth win of the season, all of which have come on the road.
The Badgers (1-1-0 Big Ten, 2-7-0 overall) jumped out to a two-goal lead and looked to be playing some of their best soccer of the season, but it was not enough, as in-state rival Green Bay (0-1-1 Horizon League, 2-5-2 overall) scored three unanswered goals and beat the Badgers 3-2 Wednesday at the McClimon Sports Complex.
The Badgers head into the national spotlight to host No. 11 Maryland Sunday as part of Wisconsin’s PAC the MAC double- header with the UW women’s soccer team.
Similarly to their last win, the Badgers scored early in the game and tried to keep the lead. However, the No. 19 Michigan State Spartans had other plans.
The Badgers played in another long game this Friday, and again they were left wondering. Wisconsin lost a tough overtime game at home against Big Ten opponent Michigan, 2-1.
