The Badgers defeated No. 5 Nebraska 3-1 as well as No. 8 Ohio State 3-1. With their win over Nebraska Friday night, Wisconsin also clinched the Big Ten championship title, their fourth consecutive conference title.
This weekend Wisconsin took on Rutgers at Jersey Mike’s Arena and then traveled to University Park to challenge No. 14 Penn State. The Badgers came away with two wins, 3-0 and 3-2. Rutgers went down easily in three sets, but Penn State proved to be a challenge.
No. 5 Wisconsin earned a 3-1 win against Minnesota, tallying seven service aces compared to the Gophers’ one. Franklin, Robinson and Orzol combined for 44 of the Badgers’ 58 kills in the match.
In front of a sold out crowd, Wisconsin snapped Nebraska’s 10-game win streak in just three sets. The tensions were high heading into this match as the last time these two teams faced each other was the 2021 NCAA National Championship, in which the Badgers took down the Cornhuskers 3-2.
Wisconsin is now the second place team in the conference after two more wins over the weekend. The Badgers bested Michigan State (3-0) in Madison Friday night and then traveled to Michigan on Sunday to win (3-1) their sixth away game.
Riding on a winning streak of six, the No. 8 Wisconsin volleyball team will face Michigan State on home ground at the UW Field House, followed by an away game in Ann Arbor against No. 24 Michigan.
With two conference wins over the weekend, against Iowa and No. 24 Michigan, Wisconsin stays second in the Big Ten – tied with Ohio State and behind the only undefeated team, Nebraska.
The Badgers take their second win on the road as they beat the Boilermakers in a thrilling four-set match. Earlier on in the week they swept Indiana in Bloomington with a dominating performance.
On Friday night, Wisconsin defeated No. 9 Penn State in an easy sweep at the UW Field House. Sunday afternoon, they proceeded to take down Illinois in a thrilling five set match.
After opening the Big Ten season 1-1, the No. 8 Badgers volleyball team returns home to face No. 12 Penn State and Illinois.
Wisconsin took down Northwestern in three consecutive sets to set the tone for their conference. The Badgers then traveled to Minnesota to face the No. 8 ranked team in the nation on Sunday night – where they fell 0-3 to the Gophers.
The No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers hosted the No. 16 Florida Gators in the first Kohl Center volleyball game in 24 years. Although the Badgers broke the NCAA attendance record for a regular season game, they fell to the Gators in five sets.
With a few matches played in the 2022 season, the Wisconsin Badgers have already begun their quest to defend last year’s national championship. The loss of key players will create challenges, but the Badgers have repeatedly shown what it takes to sustain success.
