entering Thursday's game against hated Minnesota. With UW getting
junior forward Jon Leuer back from his broken wrist and with the

Following the conclusion of the 2007 football season, many
thought his two-reception, 22-yard performance in the Outback Bowl
would be the last they saw of then-junior tight end Travis Beckum
in a Badger uniform. It was almost a given that after he tallied a
career-high 75 receptions for 982 yards during the season, the
main-receiving threat would be heading to the NFL.

Former Badger football players Jack Ikegwuonu, Taylor Mehlhaff,
Nick Hayden and Paul Hubbard each heard their name called during
the annual NFL draft this weekend in New York City and will
continue their football careers next fall. Former Badger punter Ken
DeBauche went undrafted but signed with the Green Bay Packers later
Sunday night.

Wisconsin has historically been a school rich with running back
talent. The last decade alone has provided the Cardinal and White a
Heisman winner and all-time Division-I rushing leader in Ron Dayne.
Badger faithful have also been witnesses to eventual NFL players
Michael Bennett and Anthony Davis. Followed by a one-year stint of
Brian Calhoun before he moved to the next level.

football team prepared with their usual Saturday team scrimmage. A
large crowd crammed the McClain Center as coaches, high school
teams and recruits were in attendance for the full-pads practice.

injuries the team has suffered. Injuries have plagued the defensive
line, linebackers, defensive backs and others. One stable group,
though, has been the offensive line, which has returned to full
strength following injuries last fall.

enjoy a week of rest and relaxation during Spring Break. Unlike
most students on campus, eight Badger grapplers will head to St.
Louis, Mo., March 20-22, with hopes of bringing championship

For the third consecutive match, the UW wrestling team (5-3 Big
Ten, 14-4-1 overall) needed a dramatic heavyweight performance from
No. 4 ranked junior Kyle Massey to claim victory at the UW Field
House. On Friday, the No. 10 Northwestern Wildcats became the
latest victims.
