The future of the Wisconsin's men's soccer team gets its first
regular season test this weekend when the Badgers play host to
Evansville and Dayton Friday and Sunday. The Badgers, who play
Evansville on at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Dayton at 2 p.m. Sunday, will
look for help from a group of five freshmen who represent the best
recruiting class Wisconsin has had in head coach Jeff Rohrman's
three-year tenure.

The Wisconsin men's tennis team looks to end their frustrating
2004 campaign on a high note this weekend at the Big Ten
Tournament. The Badgers, who enter the contest as a ten seed after
posting a 2-8 record in conference play, will take on Penn State
(No. 63), the number seven seed on Thursday. The last time these
two teams met, the Badgers lost 2-5.?? Since then, Wisconsin
continued to lose momentum, dropping three straight, including a
7-0 loss to Ohio State, the number two seed in the tournament, and
Wisconsin's second-round opponent if they beat the Nittany Lions.
The year for the Badgers has been marked by many close calls,
matches where they were a break or two away from getting a

encounters a situation it hasn't had in a couple years-a
quarterback controversy. With incumbent Jim Sorgi graduating after
last season, the quarterback position is up for grabs. With Sorgi's
departure, the Badgers are left with a group of mostly young,

moved within a game of their preseason goal of sweeping the
opponents from the state of Wisconsin by beating UW-Milwaukee (5-1
Horizon Conference, 8-8-1) 2-1.?? The Badgers scored early on the
goal by junior midfielder Molly Meuer eight minutes into the game.
Senior defender Bethany Heine was attributed to the assist on the
goal.
