Whatever hope was born out of Wisconsin’s wins over California and Nebraska-Omaha last week was lost over forty minutes of ugly basketball Saturday in Milwaukee. Playing without junior forward Mike Bruesewitz, the Badgers (6-4) lacked energy and poise from the opening tip, committing 10 first-half turnovers en route to a 34-20 halftime deficit. Ultimately, that deficit was simply too much to overcome as UW fell to Marquette 60-50.

Last but not least, this Lacoste number is too darn cute! I love the scalloping! Looks great with the red pants here but this is fitted version of the “do anything with it” in the first picture. This one tops the do anything actually, it’s do anything plus, because you already have the adorable scallop detail.

Even with a few weeks to go in 2012, it is pretty safe to say that people will look back at this year and realize that it was one hell of a time for movies.

I want to take some time today and move away from the routine talk-about-something-that-happened-over-the-weekend column and discuss an issue on campus I believe is very important. This issue has the potential to affect everyone on campus, but for the most part has largely stayed out of discussing among students and faculty.

Cards on the table, I might be the most awkward person in the world. My awkwardness isn’t even Michael Cera in “Arrested Development” funny, it’s more Michael Cera in real life sad. What I’m offering to you all today is the excruciatingly embarrassing vignettes that make up my life; enjoy my pain.

If you could assign a sound to sloppy, starry midnights in the big city with all your best friends (omitting all the cheesy bar-rock and the club bangers), it would probably sound something a little like Birmingham-based Johnny Foreigner. What that actually means, however, is a bit difficult to pin down.

Winters in Wisconsin are extreme. The freezing temperatures coupled with the intense winds are nearly impossible to get used to no matter if you have grown up in Madison or are from sunny California. Unfortunately, the time for that kind of weather is just around the corner, so here are a few fashion forward tips to help brave the cold:

ROSEMONT, Ill.—Despite an NCAA title in 1941, Wisconsin men’s basketball has a history largely defined by consistent futility. After that 1941 title, UW appeared in the Big Dance just three times over the next 57 years, never reaching the Sweet 16. But since 1999, the Badgers have gone dancing 14 consecutive years, reaching the Sweet 16 six times.

Patrick Stickles is a smart man, or, if he isn’t, he should be. The sort of intellectual nerve he threads through the music of Titus Andronicus is well vaunted and fearsome. Those live readings of Shakespeare and Camus from The Airing of Grievances, and the various speech extracts peppered throughout The Monitor (along with the overarching frame of the Civil War a.k.a. one of America’s bloodiest and most resonant soul-searching episodes) are not for show or flair.

Being the sex columnist is a hard job. I always have to be on my game. And I mean always. Even during presidential debates. I was answering a particularly smexy article while trying to watch Mitt and Barack going at it and so naturally I thought of, well, the two of them going at it! Classic Alex.
