Here are some quick facts about redshirt sophomore running back Melvin Gordon.
If you look far and wide, in the crevices and basements and pockets of places you’d pass by otherwise, you’ll find these neighborhood spots that are like none other. If you take a chance on them and make the long trek, you’ll find yourself going back for more.

I am sure many of you have already heard about the negative backlash against the new Miss America, Nina Davuluri. If you have not, here are some excerpts from Twitter of some things that were said Sunday night, complete with my own sarcastic commentary.
Police found and arrested a man who stole a customer’s purse at Cooper’s Tavern, located on 20 W. Mifflin St., with help from a credit card company Friday, according to a city incident report.
It’s that time of year again. School has started and everyone is settling into his or her new dorm, apartment or house. The walls look bare, empty and boring when you first move in. Decorations and personal touches need to be added to spice it up and show that someone actually lives there. Decorating can get pretty expensive on a tight college budget with the posters, paintings, dry erase boards, corkboards and peel-and-stick decals. These things can add up, yet your place still needs to be filled with something. Luckily, there are plenty of do-it-yourself decor projects you can make with little money.
Hi, I’m Lexi, and I am a recovering serial monogamist.
Chancellor Rebecca Blank sat down Monday with The Daily Cardinal and The Badger Herald and answered questions on a range of student issues. Read The Daily Cardinal's article here. Here’s what your new chancellor had to say:
Every festival during the summer is obligated to some sort of inclement weather, generally either scorching heat or rain. The first day of Pitchfork 2013 unfortunately suffered from an overabundance of both to almost comical, God-rebuking degrees. There’s nothing more disheartening than walking down the road toward Union Park and reading a bank sign’s proud declaration that it’s 104 outside.
House fellow: An upperclassman in your dorm who’s there to lead the floor and help the residents out. (Most schools say “RA.”)
We asked your fellow Badgers what they wish they had known coming into freshman year and what they wished they had learned at SOAR. This is the advice they had to share with you:
Go out on the lake (both during summer and winter)
Summer is just around the corner, bringing shorter shorts and longer nights. With classes winding down, the time is right to sexify our lives. There are so many ways to get it on over the summer, and there is never a wrong time to continue exploring our sexualities. Whether we try something new with a partner, many partners or ourselves, a general lack of homework and increased lack of long sleeves gives us the option to get down the way we want.
The Daily Cardinal recently participated in a conference call with Josh Tillman, who is currently playing under the name Father John Misty, and Cole Smith of the band DIIV, on their upcoming performances at Bonnaroo 2013.
Being on a typical college student’s budget while trying to create a stylish apartment can be tough. Your apartment will probably have carpets that are some unknown brown-green mess of color and will, to your surprise and horror, soak up any substance. Despite this and a lack of “cute” furniture, your apartment can still look good. Maybe even Pinterest-worthy if you have the knack, however, it might require some handiwork of your own.
Whether we are in the fourth year of our relationship or have yet to start one, romantic outings with our partner are a great way to become closer and learn about each other. There are several components of a successful date, including dressing to impress, mealtime etiquette and venue:
The first day of postseason play for the Badgers could also have been their last. No. 59 Wisconsin (4-7 Big Ten 13-12 overall) was run out of Columbus, Ohio, in a rematch against No. 70 Purdue (3-8, 17-11) on the first day of Big Ten tournament, losing 4-0.
Jumanji is still the scariest movie I’ve ever seen, which is weird to say because I feel like no movie featuring Robin Williams should invoke fear (even you, One Hour Photo). I always try to re-engage myself into the movie, but every time I start, I get scared like the five-year-old I was when I first experienced the horror that includes giant mosquitos, stampedes and Kirsten Dunst’s attempt at acting. It’s because of this movie and other events I’d like to invoke a new phrase into our collective dictionaries: nostalgic remission.
