Neither an injured wrist nor a late Blue Devil run could prevent
the Wisconsin Badgers (6-2) from sweeping the two-game weekend
series last weekend against the North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-5)
and the Duke Blue Devils (4-5) at the Inntowner Invitational in
Madison.

The Wisconsin Badger football team provided fans with plenty of
excitement in their Camp Randall home opener, and much of it came
down to a matter of an inch. In the end, the No. 18 Wisconsin
Badgers (2-0) defeated the Akron Zips (0-2) by a score of
48-31.

volleyball team this weekend as they travel south to take part in
the Texas State Premier tournament. Awaiting them will be the Texas

The No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers (2-1) volleyball team started the
year off right with two three-game sweeps against the New Hampshire
Wildcats (1-2) and the Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos (0-3) at last
weekend's Badger Invitational. They could not, however, escape an
upset sweep at the hands of the Washington Huskies (3-0).

Senior Day here in Madison. They'll take on the Illinois State

overall) looks to end their season with a bang starting this
weekend. They take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers (1-8-0 Big Ten,
6-9-1 overall) Friday in Minneapolis and then travel to Green Bay
to battle the UW-Green Bay Phoenix (1-1-2 Horizon, 4-7-2 overall)
Sunday.

had a busy homecoming weekend. They played the Dartmouth Big Green
(1-1-1 Ivy League, 3-6-1 overall) Friday night and the Michigan
Wolverines (1-3-0 Big Ten, 5-6-1 overall) Sunday afternoon.

Expectations were high for the Ohio State Buckeyes entering the
year. However, there were still some areas of the team that needed
addressing. The backfield was very inexperienced as well as the
cornerback position. The starting quarterback was also gone from
last year. Still, the Buckeyes were picked to finish high in the
Big Ten this year.

travels to Bloomington, Ind., this weekend to battle perennial Big
Ten favorite No. 4 Indiana (3-0 Big Ten, 8-1-2 overall). As good as
Indiana is, the Badgers said they are optimistic heading into
Friday's game.

The Big Ten season has officially started for every team except
Wisconsin, playing conference games last weekend. Most of the
conference looked very good in its nonconference games so far this
year. Now it's time to look at where all the teams stand heading
into the rest of the conference schedule.
