With March Madness at an end, some Badgers are beginning to hang up their game day clothes until next fall. However, don’t forget about the lesser-known—but just as fun —spring sports. Whether you’re heading to a softball game or a tennis match, Badger gear is always required to cheer our teams on.
Spring is finally here again, and with the (slightly) warmer weather comes the frantic search for summer internships and post-graduation jobs. As the cover letters turn into interviews, stress levels get higher as we try to control and perfect every factor that employers look at when considering whom to hire. Of course, they look at your resume and carefully consider your credentials and recommendations. However, the first impression that you give in a face-to-face interview can often be a make-or-break moment in any industry. Are you dressed for success? Your interview attire could be the solution to your internship or job hunt.
The majority of people in a given lecture hall take notes on their computer. But how many of those people are actually taking notes? Behind the word document, Safari is open with multiple tabs, iMessage is open, work for another class is open and probably much more. How often do students sit in class simply taking notes, when there are endless distractions in front of us?
Many people attend Sunroom Cafe as a regular spot for brunch. It can be expected when attending on a Sunday morning around 11 a.m. to have to wait in a line that goes down the stairs, if not out the door. But Sunroom Cafe has many more options than just your typical omelette or pancake breakfast. What many people do not realize is that it has a spectacular dinner menu as well.
With the Golden Globes and Grammys buzz coming to an end and the Oscar's just around the corner, celebrities are preparing to look their best and hopefully receive a prestigious award. No, I do not mean an Oscar--l mean best dressed. There have been many “hits” and “misses” on the red carpet this season. Whether the celebrity is thin, rocking a baby bump for the next nine months or anywhere in between, they are here and dressed to impress.
Despite the frigid weather, many of us are thrilled to be back from break. While we enjoyed being home, it was certainly time to come back with friends. Then, the weekend ends and classes begin once again. The evening before, make sure to set multiple alarms for a bright and early in the morning. I’m sure many of you, like myself, have to set at least three alarms, including one that rings more than 30 minutes before you actually need to get out of bed. When that third alarm goes off, everyone rubs their eyes as they look at the clock. Slowly, sliding out of bed, we know that if we don’t get up now, it’ll be embarrassing to be the student who walks into lecture late. Nothing is worse than the entire room, including the professor, staring, as you stroll in slowly, in the sweats that you pulled off of your floor.
