‘Much Ado About Nothing’ brings love, liveliness and laughter to Mitchell Theatre

The quintessential enemies-to-lovers story has taken the Mitchell Theatre stage just in time to kick off a romantic, picturesque springtime in Madison. University Theatre’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” directed by Baron Kelly, is a production of the classic Shakespearean comedy that finds a way to put a smile on the face of every member of the audience.

‘Back to the Future: The Musical’ is a technical spectacle

The legendary flux capacitor-charged, plutonium-powered DeLorean time machine landed at Overture Center to present the touring production of “Back to the Future: The Musical” in Overture Hall from March 10 to March 15. This high-tech theatrical journey through time is a musical theater spin on the classic 1985 film, bringing the movie’s nostalgia to the stage alongside the magic of live theater in its Wisconsin premiere.

University Theatre’s ‘cullud wattah’ explores Flint water crisis, human resilience

In Mitchell Theatre, a swarm of plastic bottles filled with dirty water has invaded the stage. “cullud wattah,” the University Theatre production running through March 8, transports audiences to a household in Flint, Michigan, where three generations of women desperately seek control over their own lives amidst the crushing effects of the Flint water crisis.
