UW-Madison is once again the top producer of Peace Corps volunteers in the country, ranking first among large universities in the number of volunteers worldwide for the second consecutive year.

UW-Madison again ranked first in number of Peace Corps volunteers

UW-Madison is once again the top producer of Peace Corps volunteers in the country, ranking first among large universities in the number of volunteers worldwide for the second consecutive year, according to a university release Wednesday. Since the founding of the Peace Corps in 1961, 3,279 volunteers from UW-Madison have served communities around the world — the second largest number of people from a single institution. This is the fourth year that UW-Madison has ranked in the top five universities and colleges, and there are currently 85 Badgers volunteering worldwide.


Abdu’Allah showed the audience at Gordon Commons pictures of his artwork, which have been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the Chazen Museum on campus.

UW-Madison art professor talks cultural transformation, black identity in artwork

Faisal Abdu’Allah, a UW-Madison associate professor of art and Creative Arts Community faculty director, spoke Tuesday night about the representation of transformation, identity and racial issues in his artwork. Abdu’Allah showed the audience at Gordon Commons pictures of his artwork, which have been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the Chazen Museum on campus.

UW-Madison hopes to foster inclusive, dynamic classroom discussions

In the wake of campus climate data suggesting many UW-Madison students feel marginalized or uncomfortable in classroom discussions the School of Education has decided to take action. The result is The Discussion Project, a program that trains UW-Madison instructors on how to best facilitate equitable classroom discussions through the School of Education.
