Restaurants are about more than just the food. Restaurants are
an experience, from the process of deciding where to eat to
deciding who pays for the check. They should entertain, bring new
experiences and give you satisfaction. It's basically like finding
your soul mate. Sometimes you lower your standards, sometimes you
dish out the cash for something nice, but in the end, you choose
what makes you happiest.

With two statement matches against ranked conference opponents
on the line, the No. 19 Wisconsin volleyball team (4-4 Big Ten,
14-6 overall) fell further behind in the Big Ten standings with
losses against No. 21 Purdue (5-3, 16-4) in a five set shootout and
a sweep at the hands of No. 17 Illinois (5-3, 14-5). The two
dropped matches leave the Badgers in the midst of a four-way tie
for fourth place and a distant four games behind conference leader,
No. 1 Penn State.

Michael Cera seems to have perfected the nerdy persona he played
in Juno"" and ""Superbad."" ""Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist""

You can buy them in cans, as a paste or in jars of sauce, but
there is nothing like biting into a fresh, ripe tomato in the
summer. It remains a controversy whether they should really be a
vegetable or a fruit, but that just means these savory sweet treats
can please nearly any palate.

If you're a girl and you visit Perez Hilton in class, on the
toilet, in the morning, after lunch, when you're watching 90210 or
only every 10 minutes, then I'm sure you've heard about the DJ AM,
Travis Barker plane crash. Obvi. It's been like, four whole days.
The sad thing is four people actually died. The funny thing is we
would never have heard about that crash if famous people weren't
involved.

As I sat comfortably in the living room with my four fabulous
roommates Sunday night, watching the Packers-Cowboys game and
stuffing our faces with taco pizza and chips felt painless. That
is, up until we saw Green Bay cornerback Al Harris collide with his
teammate, linebacker A.J. Hawk, in the middle of the first quarter.

One would think that Tina Fey, the brain that brought about the
Emmy awarding-winning 30 Rock,"" would take the comedically fertile
concept of surrogate pregnancy and make ""Baby Mama"" a movie that
is smart, fun and hilarious. As Amy Poehler (of ""Saturday Night
Live"") would say in the film, ""Yeah. I like all of those
words.""

Everyone handles stress differently. Some continually talk about
how much stress they have and then proceed to keep talking about
how much needs to be done instead of doing anything about their
stress, which results in a higher accumulation of stress.

A slimy stream of orange vomit slides slowly down a staircase.
Slurred four-letter words fight out of drunken mouths and hang in
the air among indecipherable shouts and groans. An inebriated man
in handcuffs yells something about bovine manure as policemen drag
his bulky, bumbling body through a crowd of dazed onlookers.

OMAHA, Neb. - Freshmen forwards Michael Beasley and Bill Walker
might be playing in the NBA next season, but the No. 3-seed
Wisconsin Badgers taught the two young stars and the rest of the
Kansas State Wildcats a lesson in team defense as UW defeated KSU
72-55 Saturday afternoon at the Qwest Center.

Anyone who's got an ear turned to the behind-the-scenes turmoil
of the music industry knows that it's been nudged to a precipice of
uncertainty; perhaps it's even been pushed over the edge. The heart
of the matter is that people are consuming more music now than
ever, but instead of walking out of stores with CDs, most are
stuffing hard drives with the modern culmination of what CDs first
introduced - digital music in the form of binary bits and bytes.

Weekends are wonderful things, and we look forward to them as
little glimpses of heaven from the Gods of Academia. Finally a day
arrives that allows us to sleep until 1 p.m., lounge in our pajamas
while watching cartoons and basically live the American Dream we
have always been promised.
(02/12/08 6:00am)
I was dreaming. Not a particularly pleasant or bad dream, but
the sort of dream that you wouldn't mind staying in for a while
because at least the act of dreaming implies that you are asleep
and don't have to deal with the endless stream of misfortunes that
is life. The point is, I was taking a nap. And then there was a
loud crash. My door flew open and in came a hulking figure with
ominous shadows crowding the door behind him, roughly shaking me
awake, saying, Keaton! We have to go right now!""

It is time to complete the triumvirate of commercialized winter
holidays. Three months ago, it began with Thanksgiving (slogan:
Force feed your loved ones name brand food""). Then came Christmas
(slogan: ""Buy your loved ones lots of expensive crap""). The final
commercialized holiday of winter is, of course, Valentine's Day
(slogan: ""Force feed your loved ones name brand chocolate and buy
them lots of lots of expensive crap"").

While much of the Midwest lay under a thick blanket of snow, the
Wisconsin defense turned up the heat on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the
Badgers made 12 of their final 14 free throws to earn a 60-54
victory Wednesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

El Pescador Mexican Restaurant, 2810 E. Washington Ave., should
be added to the Madisonian's Mexican food lover's regular
repertoire - especially if that person loves seafood. El Pescador
offers all the standard Mexican restaurant staples like
chimichangas, enchiladas and nachos. But, as its name suggests, it
also offers a large variety of seafood-based entrées.

I was totally ready to come back to Madison after our extremely
long winter break. I love being at home, but I wanted to get back,
start a new semester and see all of my friends. I love the
excitement of buying new notebooks and seeing all the familiar
faces running around the aisles of the bookstore. Everyone is so
happy and carefree. I don't even mind waking up early, at least for
the first few weeks of classes.

D.P. Dough, at 244 W. Gilman Street, has recently fallen victim
to harsh critics with surprisingly high standards for cheap, easy
food.
