Streets around the Madison Capitol and intersecting with State Street may be closed by Madison police Saturday for an organized march where a large crowd is expected, according to city officials.
The parade, Women’s March on Madison, is scheduled to march down State Street from noon until 3 p.m. beginning at Library Mall and ending at the Capitol.
Madison police say participants are required to stay on sidewalks and follow traffic laws, but officials will close surrounding streets if safety becomes an issue.
Traffic delays should be expected downtown during the march, especially in the Gorham Street and Johnson Street area.
