We all have guilty pleasures. Guilty movie pleasures, I mean. Meg Ryan movies, heist movies, Christian Bale in anything, John Cusack/Jeremy Piven movies, made-for-TV holiday movies on ABC Family, watching The Notebook"" four times in one week. Whatever.

\Picture a boxing ring. The air is so damp you can almost sip it from a spoon. In one corner, there's a drunk pirate, and in the other, there's a ferocious lion. Who would win in a fight?"" writes Tarah in this week's The Taraminator.'

Plot might as well be ‘invisible’

What began as a half-decent portrayal of upper-middle class white America, soon spiraled into a schmaltzy extravaganza of total blasphemy in ""The Invisible."" ‘Disturbia’ surrounds teenage suspense film

A modern trend in the art of filmmaking has had writers and directors striving to revamp old movies and old movie formulas into technology-hyped, teen-esque remakes. Examples are ""Joy Ride,"" ""Swimfan,"" ""Brick"" and now, ""Disturbia,"" a credible thriller and wholly decent high school version of the 1954 Jimmy Stewart flick ""Rear Window.""

Get stuck in the ’80s

I want to live in an '80s teen movie. When I was little, I always figured that, at some point during high school, I'd sew my own prom dress. That didn't happen. Instead, I just wore store-bought ones, and I felt cheated. Slammed. Hurt by the fact that I couldn't be as pretty in pink as Molly Ringwald. Plus, there was no James Spader. And that's a tragedy.
