It is a rare honor that a current college hockey player receives
the opportunity to skate with the pros in a major international

the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships
Wisconsin junior forward Craig Smith certainly impressed.

An uncertain ownership situation has led to a very uncertain future
for the Phoenix Coyotes. Rumors have swirled for a while now that
the team will inevitably be forced to relocate from the American
southwest to the franchise's original home, Winnipeg, Manitoba,
where the Jets played from 1972 until 96. The Atlanta Thrashers,

For anyone that watched the annual Wisconsin spring game this past
Saturday, one thing certainly stood out: The Badgers' offense was
painful to watch. The defense dominated the game winning, 29-27
through some point system that I am not going to pretend I
understand.

Quarterback is one of the most demanding positions in all of
sports. In no other sport does one position have as strong an
influence on the team's success than the field general on the
gridiron. Quarterbacks constantly live under a heavy spotlight of
scrutiny.

Badger hockey fans that have been watching the first week of the
Stanley Cup playoffs may have noticed more than a few familiar
names skating for the 16 teams competing to lift hockey's holy
grail. That would be because 11 former Wisconsin men's hockey
players are playing in this year's NHL postseason, the highest
number of any NCAA men's hockey program.

When the whispers of a Big Ten men's hockey conference first
started circulating after Penn State officially announced plans to
enter Division I men's and women's hockey back in December, the
general consensus among fans, myself among them, was negative.
(03/21/11 6:00am)
When it was announced that a Penn State men's hockey program would
begin play for the 2012-'13 season, it was assumed that the
establishment of a Big Ten men's hockey conference wouldn't be far
behind. The addition of the Nittany Lions gives the Big Ten the
six-team minimum required to hold a conference championship in
Division I men's hockey.

This season has been defined by periods of ups and downs for the
Wisconsin men's hockey team. And after falling two games-to-one

two weekends ago, this roller coaster ride of a season came to a
screeching halt thanks to back-to-back late game collapse.
