Everyone’s had a dragged-out Sunday at College Library. A stack of empty paper coffee cups. Bags of sour gummy worms forming a pile. A mountain of unfinished work. I often find myself stuck in this all-too familiar scene until the walls blend into the floor and my reading comprehension abilities are put into question. When I finally make my escape, it is not without a pledge that Helen and I will meet again next Sunday to repeat the same mundane production.

It’s safe to say that Bart Houston had thrown a myriad of touchdown passes before Saturday’s 24-13 win against the Illinois Fighting Illini. Yet it’s not hyperbolic to say that Houston’s two touchdown passes on Saturday were unlike any he’s ever thrown prior to this weekend.

Recently, I spent a night doing the following: I came home from a long day of classes, did some online shopping, made myself some dinner, finished up some homework assignments and was in bed by 11 p.m. Pretty standard weeknight right? That is if this scenario had occurred on a weeknight. But, my fellow Badgers, this was on a Friday.

OK. I know what you’re all thinking, “Stanley doesn’t believe in gravity, so therefore he doesn’t believe in science.” This is totally false. I absolutely refute this. Sure, I don’t believe in gravity. I do not believe it exists. But not because I don’t believe in science. In FACT, the evidence that inspires this epiphany is purely scientific.

Disappointment tends to hang heavier after having high hopes for something or someone. I write not of ungrounded expectations, rather of expectations that are based on past experiences. Unfortunately, The Icon, a tapas bar located directly across from the Overture Center on State Street, is the subject of my disappointment.

Chart News’ projection that “What A Time To Be Alive” would sell 500,000 copies in its first week showed just how excited hip-hop fanatics were over this collaboration project with rap heavyweights Drake and Future. Although it sold 375,000 and not 500,000, that number is still an impressive feat, squaring up right with The Weeknd's and Drake’s solo efforts this year. But does it really live up to its hype? Is this collaboration project by two of the top rappers in the game truly a groundbreaking project?

Riding high on a two-game winning streak, the Badgers looked to keep the positive momentum going to start a three-game home stand. But it was the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars (0-0-0, Missouri Valley Conference, 4-2-1 overall) who came out with more energy for most of the night, as they defeated Wisconsin (1-0-0 Big Ten, 2-5-0 overall) 2-0.

Buried almost a mile below the Antarctic ice, strands of optical sensors spread through a cubic kilometer of ice, hanging perpendicular to the horizon and stretching as deep as a mile and a half toward bedrock. Above those strands, surrounded by barren ice, is a two-story building flanked by a pair of spires and home to some 300 computers. This is IceCube, a kilometer-wide neutrino detector embedded in the South Pole. Built and operated by the UW-Madison in collaboration with universities and laboratories across the globe, IceCube has been gradually collecting data on neutrinos since 2010, six years after construction began in the Antarctic ice shelf.
