The top-ranked Wisconsin men's rowing team will be in Blue Lake, Ill., this Saturday to compete for the Cochrane and Jablonic Cups against a trio of East Coast opponents. The meet, to be held in the Cal-Sag Channel on the Calumet River, will be the last opportunity for the men to race before the conference and national championships.
The regular season may be over, but the championships are just heating up for the University of Wisconsin women's rowing team. The Big Ten Championships kick off the post-season Saturday, May 2, at Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio. The Badgers will take a full six-boat team into competition. Head coach Bebe Bryans led the team to another strong campaign in her fifth season at the helm. Bryans is excited about the way her team practiced and competed as they closed out their regular season.

One week from now, I can rest easy. One week from now, I won't have midterms, papers, quizzes, labs or any other stresses in my life. I'll be curled on the couch, in a partially vegetative state in a tryptophan-induced coma and enjoying some of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions. I wake up for the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, then flip back and forth between the Westminster Dog Show and watching the Detroit Lions lose to whatever team they're playing. However, one tradition that has yet to catch on in my family is the Thanksgiving movie.
