Central Regionals was held this past weekend in Iowa City, Iowa,
for the 2006 College Series of ultimate Frisbee. Coming away
victorious were both Hodag, the Wisconsin men's team, and Bella
Donna, the Wisconsin women's team. Both ended the tournament by
defeating Carlton College in very well played games.

A circle roughly the size of a dorm room was dimly illuminated
from above. Darkness consumed everything else, selfishly hoarding
away whatever was beyond. A knee-high fog kept the floor from view.
Four figures stood equally spaced out along the perimeter of the
circle as I nervously glanced around from the center. When the
individuals shifted their stance from time to time, the fog twisted
and rolled, curling around and upwards, in a vain attempt to
conquer the light, before settling back down.

I like what you're saying,\ I responded to the idea of sharpies
and co-eds. ""I definitely don't want to be some Dr. Phil-esque,
out-of-shape, know-it-all…""

A circle roughly the size of a dorm room was dimly lit from
above. A darkness consumed everything else, keeping the rest of the
world out and the floor was hidden from view by a thick fog. Four
figures stood along the perimeter as I nervously glanced around
from the center of the light. When the individuals shifted their
stance from time to time, the fog twisted and rolled, curling
upwards, in a vain attempt to conquer the light.

What do the following Madison bars have in common: The Klinic,
Stillwaters, The Annex? Give up? They have all been the location of
a shooting, and it's not even a complete list for the general
downtown Madison area. And while it's no inner-city Chicago, it is
still kinda creepy.

The time has come my fellow students, to take up your pitchforks
and torches and, um, Nalgene bottles, and overthrow our tyrannical
fascists. I am talking about a revolution, it's time for change.
The age of the Robin Hood party has passed, we need something more
along the lines of the William Wallace party. In other words, ASM's
time is up. NEXT!

Alright, I've got to level with the guys for a second. Ladies,
just close your eyes for the next 525 words. Yeah, that's… just
close ‘em.

They're all around us, created by us, used by us. They
demonstrate what is right and wrong, and even entertain and make us
feel better about ourselves. I am, of course, talking about
stereotypes, those glorious formulaic and over-simplified
archetypes for what people and things could be.

Margin of EricLast week was spring break. I'm telling you this
in case you forgot, which is entirely possible from the look of
some people stumbling around campus this week. Those who thrust
themselves deepest into the spring break fray will undoubtedly have
flashbacks and night sweats for weeks to come. Console them in
their time of need as classes, homework and exams are sure to crush
what's left of their fragile spirits.

Back on Jan. 31, the President gave a quaint little speech
called the State of the Union. During this speech, Bush claimed his
budget cut spending and kept the nation on track to cutting the
deficit in half by 2009. How glorious it sounded! We would finally
break the cycle of fiscally screwing future generations.

Finding something true doesn't come as easily for some people as
it does for others. Many are able to go out into the world,
interact with people and, through simple conversation, figure out
what a person is like and whether or not there is a chance for a
more intimate relationship. Others are left clueless, wondering if
the reason there is a hand imprint on their face is because of
something they said, where they were looking, where their hand was
or some combination of the three.

In the absence of an al-Qaida skeleton team or a nefarious crew
of 'Axis of Evil' athletes, the 2006 Torino Olympic Games will
probably not include any political-athletic upsets akin to the 1980
'Miracle on Ice.' In the aftermath of the highly-competitive Cold
War, the age of political-athletic competition seems to have
stalled.
