valentines care package 2026

UW Housing Valentine's care packages

Need a sweet treat for your Valentine? UW Housing has you covered

University of Wisconsin-Madison Housing and Dining helps students celebrate Valentine’s Day with three food specials, available now through online ordering.

Members of the University of Wisconsin-Madison community are able to place online orders for students in residence halls to receive Valentine’s goods through Feb. 5, with pickup between Feb. 12-14.

The program, organized by UW Housing and Dining, offers Valentine’s Day specials like a decorated, heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie with an optional message of choice, a four-pack of vanilla and chocolate frosted cupcakes and a reusable Valentine’s bag of various candy and other snacks. Each order comes with an optional greeting card and message.

“The program is built with parents, relatives and friends in mind, giving them an easy way to send encouragement, celebration or a simple reminder that someone is thinking of them while they attend UW-Madison,” Peter Testory, director of Dining & Culinary Services, told The Daily Cardinal.

When an order is submitted and assembled, students receive notification that their care package is ready, and they can pick it up at the closest dining hall. The system is designed to be efficient, personal and campus-friendly, Testory said.

Since the form is open to all — not just UW-Madison students — the program also creates an opportunity for family members and others to send their student a gift.

And Testory said students aren’t the only ones who stand to benefit from this service. “For staff involved in the program, the most rewarding part is the chance to brighten a student’s day,” he said.
