Madison police arrested a woman for alleged disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after she entered Red Sushi and said a bomb was going to explode.

Bomb threat on West Washington Avenue

A DeForest woman interrupted dinner for the customers of Red Sushi Wednesday night after she walked into the restaurant and yelled that a bomb was about to explode.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. Wednesday night on the 300 block of West Washington Avenue, according to a Madison Police Department incident report. MPD officers arrested Jennifer Minick, 31, on suspected charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Minick ordered customers to “get on the ground, on your hands and knees,” before she announced, “It's going to blow up!” according to the report.

“The manager told the woman to leave, but she refused and police were called,” MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report. “The suspect struggled with officers and was taken to jail.”

MPD estimates there were 25 people present when the woman threatened that a bomb was going to explode.
