Improvements coming to Alliant Energy Center Campus

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced continued improvements March 24 at the Alliant Energy Center Campus beginning in April.

The new improvements include new loading docks and carpeting at the Coliseum and painting at the Arena, according to a Dane County release.

J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. submitted the winning development proposal in the county’s competitive bidding process, and its proposal will not burden taxpayers. The improvements are set to be completed by the beginning of August.

The renovations follow recent financial success for the Alliant Energy Center Campus. Its 2015 revenue totaled $9.3 million, the center’s highest since the 2008 recession, according to the release.

This year is shaping up to be a strong one for the campus as well. Booked events are up from 2015, with the summer booked solid. The New Holland Pavilions, completed in 2014, have already booked 20 shows this year, according to the release.

These developments are also having an overall positive economic impact. According to the release, the New Holland Pavilions project created 200 local jobs, and the Alliant Energy Center is estimated to directly provide nearly $88 million to the local economy.
