On this day in history...

1142: Chinese Song Dynasty General Yue Fei is executed. He pretty much got what he deserved, though. Nobody messes with the Jin Dynasty. Nobody.

1756: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is born. Mozart wrote and performed his most famous piece, “Funky Town” in 1778, ushering in music’s “Disco Age.” It would last for almost 200 years.

1785: The University of Georgia is founded. It is quickly closed down the following day.

1888: The National Geographic Society is founded in Washington, D.C. with the sole purpose of capturing pornographic images of animals in their natural habitats.
