The deadline for the Wisconsin No Call List is today, but some Wisconsin residents are having trouble signing up due to the record number of people occupying the state government's phone lines before the midnight cut-off time.
The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, which is overseeing the program received close to 60,000 calls Wednesday and 80,000 calls Thursday, according to Jean Burt, manager of the consumer information center for Wisconsin's No Call Program.
Burt reccommended that people sign up later at night or over the state's website to avoid problems. Cell phones are not covered by the Wisconsin list, but they can be registered on the Federal list.
She said people who register by Nov. 30 would be on the list for two years.
Those who register after the deadline would go on the following list.
