Madison police arrested three teenagers early Friday morning for allegedly shooting multiple people with a paintball gun.
Police were called to the West Main and Proudfit Street area around 2:30 a.m. Friday after a report that a woman and man had been shot with paintballs in front of residence on the 100 block of Proudfit Street.
According to the police report, the female victim was shot in the forehead with a yellow paintball, and the male victim received rounds to the back and buttocks. A physician treating the victims told police that the woman could have lost an eye had the paintball struck a little lower.""
Early in the night, police received a report that a squad car being driven on John Nolen Drive had been struck in the windshield with yellow paintballs.
Around 4 a.m., University of Wisconsin police officers pulled over the suspected vehicle on the outskirts of UW's campus.
Police seized a paintball gun and paintballs from the car. They arrested the three young adults for their alleged involvement in recklessly endangering safety.
