Students and staff will assist the city and clean up after Saturday's Halloween festivities in a Sunday morning neighborhood clean-up campaign organized by the Wisconsin Union Directorate.
The WUD Community Service Committee will launch its first annual Keep Campus Boo-tiful"" clean-up session Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
Participants will gather at the Morgridge Center inside the Red Gym for a free breakfast and break off to clean student neighborhoods laden with large amounts of post-Halloween trash.
The city of Madison plans to have State Street clean by early Sunday morning, and will equip student volunteers with trash bags to assist in the effort.
Jacklyn John, WUD director of community service, said the project is an easy way for the UW-Madison community to collaborate with the city's effort to tidy up the downtown.
""It is important for students to take some responsibility for Halloween weekend and really take ownership of their campus by helping keep the area clean,"" she said.
