Dane County authorities announced Thursday they recently confiscated the single largest heroin seizure in the county's history.
The Dane County and Gang Task Force said more than 1,000 grams of heroin was found at a residence in the county. Also found was more than a kilogram of cocaine, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and a 5 shot, .38 revolver.
The address of the residence could not be released because the investigation is ongoing. Names of the individuals associated with the drug confiscation are also being withheld.
The street value of the confiscated drugs totaled more than $250,000 and, according to authorities, the heroin was very pure"" and if ingested would have most likely been fatal to the user.
Authorities said this seizure most likely saved lives and should put a dent in the local heroin supply.
