The Madison Police Department released a sketch yesterday of the suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted three women in the downtown area last weekend.
Between approximately 1 a.m. Dec. 4 and 7 p.m. Dec. 5, a press release from the police department states three sexual assaults occurred in the West Washington Avenue/Park Street/Regent Street area. In each case, the suspect allegedly talked to the victims, grabbed them and restrained them. The release states he fled after victims resisted or received aid from others. None of the victims knew the suspect, and each was walking either alone or with one other person.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 20 and 23. He has a slight build with short dark hair, and is possibly a native Spanish speaker.
Police posted a version of the sketch on their Web site at www.cityofmadison.com/police/strangersexualassaults.html. They urge anyone with information on these offenses to call Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
