Opponents of Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide have delayed their response to a U.S.-backed peace plan that would make him share power with a prime minister and new government, according to CNN.com. 

 

 

 

The deadline was 5 p.m. Tuesday local time. Opposition leaders, who have said armed rebellion will continue until Aristide is removed, will meet Wednesday to draft an alternate plan.

Rebels took over Cap-Hatien, Haiti's second-largest city, Sunday. Aristide called for international policing to prevent what he said would be thousands of deaths in a potential attack on the capital, Port-au-Prince. 

 

 

 

U.S. forces restored Aristide to power in 1994 after ending a dictatorship in Haiti, but the Bush Administration said it will not commit many troops now. 

 

 

 

Fifty Marines arrived Monday to secure the U.S. Embassy. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

College graduate hiring has risen 12.9 percent from last year, according to a press release citing a CollegeGrad.com study. 

 

 

 

While a competitive job market remains, companies from nearly all fields are becoming increasingly dedicated to filling entry-level positions. 

 

 

 

This is the first time in four years that there has been a significant rise in available positions for college graduates, according to the release. 

 

 

 

Additionally, the Web site outlines what it found as the top 500 entry level employers, who in total offer more than 120,000 jobs for 2004 college graduates.
