Police arrested a man Saturday for burglary of a residence on the 300 block of North Broom Street.
Police believe Benjamin Moore, 33, broke into the residence and fled when resident confronted him, according to a press release.
The victim called police, who found the suspected thief nearby using the victim's description.
Police found stolen items from the residence as well as from other residences on the 500 block of West Doty Street and the 10 block of North Bassett Street, the press release said.
UW System President Katharine Lyall announced Friday that a search committee for the UW System has generated a list of finalists to become chancellor of UW-Milwaukee, according to a press release.
Finalists include Charles DeLisi, a professor of sciences from Boston University; Samuel Kirkpatrick, the current president of Eastern Michigan University; Roderick McDavis, the provost and vice president of academic affairs for Virginia Commonwealth University; and Carlos Santiago, the provost and vice president for academic affiars for the university of Albany.
On Feb. 27, the Board of Regents' Special Committee for the UW-Milwaukee Chancellor search will interview the candidates in Madison.
