Texas Tech men's basketball Head Coach Bob Knight, after a stressful day of supposed suspensions and ultimatums, coached the Red Raiders to an 83-63 victory over Baylor last night.
Knight came under fire earlier in the day after getting into an altercation with Texas Tech Chancellor Dr. David R. Smith at a local Lubbock, Texas restaurant. Knight and Smith got into a heated argument, but reports state there was no physical contact.
According to various Associated Press reports, Knight was given an ultimatum of a five-day suspension earlier in the day.
\I regret that the situation turned out the way it did,"" Knight said. ""I look forward to finishing this season in a strong fashion and I am glad the situation is behind me so I can return to the business of coaching.""
