A UW-Eau Claire student died of meningococcal meningitis Tuesday'the fourth Wisconsin resident to do so this year.
Amber Krenz, 22, was admitted to Sacred Heart hospital Monday with a high fever, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday. She died Tuesday afternoon.
The few people who had contact with Krenz are taking antibiotics, according to the Journal Sentinel, which also reported that 49 people in the state have contracted the disease so far this year.
