The Associated Students of Madison's Student Services Finance Committee announced Friday its proposed internal budget of $49,155, an increase from $6,350 for 2001-'02. One reason for the increase is an allocation of $26,885 for a new paid staff position to process the group's paperwork.
Currently, Assistant Dean of Students Connie Wilson is the
nonvoting member of SSFC, selected by the chancellor, who processes and manages the group's transactions, SSFC Chair Lamont Smith said.

\I think [the position] has been needed for a while, but right now is an opportune time because ... the budgets [of student organizations] are growing,"" he said.
