Two people remain hospitalized after a cab struck a crowd of pedestrians Saturday outside Camp Randall.
The patients are in fair condition at UW Hospital according to the nurse supervisor.
Police spokesman Larry Kamholz said the accident happened when the part-time cab driver attempted to help his female passenger open the back door. When he turned around the vehicle moved forward, at which point he accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.
The cab driver will be ticketed for a crime following the investigation according to Kamholz.
\There are charges pending,"" he said. ""We're just trying to figure out if there's anything else we need to know.""
A Badger Cab official said he was not overly concerned with possible court action.
""We have insurance and we'll see how it plays out,"" he said.
