Two Dartmouth College faculty members found murdered; no suspects

Two Dartmouth College professors were found dead at their home four miles from the campus in Hanover, N.H., Saturday, victims of a double homicide. 

 

 

 

According to The Dartmouth, a newspaper at the college, Half Zantop, an earth sciences professor, and his wife Susanne, chair of Dartmouth's German Studies Department, were found dead in their home by a fellow faculty member Saturday evening. 

 

 

 

The Zantops taught at Dartmouth for more than 25 years, The Dartmouth reported. They were known for opening their home to many guests.

New Hampshire Attorney General Philip McLaughlin said Sunday autopsies confirmed that the couple was murdered. 

 

 

 

No motive is yet known, and no suspects are in custody.
