Todd: Hello?
No, the Badgers' Rose Bowl berth is not yet a foregone conclusion. The BCS could still conspire to propel the Buckeyes ahead of us in the standings and reduce us to the likes of a credit-card-sponsored bowl. One more round of midterm elections is in the books, and it was a sweeping victory for Republicans nationwide. While the GOP victory may not have been as dominant as many had projected, the Republicans were still able to take the U.S. House of Representatives, grab a lion's share of the country's governorships and oust Democratic senate stalwarts, including Wisconsin's own Russ Feingold. Maybe Feingold was just been getting overshadowed by Ron Johnson and his primary victory, but it feels like ages since we last got to see the fiery, not apologizing for anything Feingold that made him a Badger political staple. But Tuesday's Moving America Forward rally brought that Feingold back in a big way.
The birth of a television series begins with a pilot. The show's creative team puts together one sample episode of the series, shows that to the network execs, and hopes it gets picked up. That's basically what this column is today, only you, dear readers, are the network execs. I hope you relish the power.
