Despite being down after the first set, the No. 19 Wisconsin volleyball team (4-1 Big Ten, 15-2 overall) came back and defeated No. 14 Ohio State (2-4, 14-4) 3-2 in Columbus Friday night. The win allowed UW to maintain third place in the Big Ten.
Homecoming weekend kicked off Friday night as the Wisconsin men’s soccer team (1-1-0 Big Ten, 8-2-1 overall) defeated the defending national champion Hoosiers (1-2-0, 4-7-1), in a thrilling 4-3 victory at McClimon Soccer Complex.
Wisconsin football (1-1 Big Ten, 3-2 overall) is back this weekend. After taking last week off with a bye, the Badgers welcome No. 19 Northwestern (0-1, 4-1) this Saturday for Wisconsin’s homecoming game.
After a tough weekend with two conference games versus Penn State and Ohio State, the No. 20 Wisconsin women’s soccer team (3-1-1 Big Ten, 8-2-2 overall) is looking ahead to its next challenge, another Big Ten matchup against Illinois (1-3-1, 6-5-2) in Champaign Saturday.
Rested legs, relaxed minds and a laid-back weekend. These are all characteristics of a football bye week. And now that the Badgers (1-1 Big Ten, 3-2 overall) have put their bye week behind them, the task ahead is focusing on an incoming No. 19 Northwestern team (0-1, 4-1).
Wisconsin volleyball (3-1 Big Ten, 14-2 overall) has two road games this weekend, Friday at No. 14 Ohio State and Saturday at No. 4 Penn State. These are the final two games of the Badgers’ four game road trip. It’s also their first road trip of the conference season.
Following a fast-paced and physical game against Drake University that resulted in a victory Tuesday, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team (0-1-0 Big Ten, 7-2-1 overall) is already looking forward to their next game, a conference matchup against reigning NCAA champions Indiana University (1-1-0, 4-6-1) Friday at home.
After bouncing back from consecutive losses with a win against interstate rival Marquette last week, the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team (0-1-0 Big Ten, 7-2-1 overall) won again at home, 3-2 over the Drake University Bulldogs.
Drama is the key to any good story. Drama is generated over time but it builds on the key principle of suspense.
Well rested off a bye week, the Wisconsin (1-1 Big Ten, 3-2 overall) offense had more time than usual to prepare for No. 19 Northwestern (0-1, 4-1) and to shake off the tough loss against No. 4 Ohio State (2-0, 6-0).
The argument over the use of Native American mascots in schools is now up for debate in the Wisconsin Legislature.
Women’s Hockey
It has been 17 months since Chicago Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose last took to the court after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a 2012 playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Coming off a tough loss to No. 8 Penn State Friday, the Wisconsin women’s soccer team (3-1-1 Big Ten, 8-2-2 overall) was able to turn the tides against Ohio State University (1-2-1, 7-3-2) in a 1-0 overtime thriller Sunday afternoon at the McClimon Soccer Complex.
Saturday, the No. 23 Badger volleyball team traveled to Lincoln, Neb. for a Big Ten showdown against No. 10 Nebraska.
The Wisconsin women’s soccer team’s (2-1-1 Big Ten, 7-2-2 overall) six-game undefeated streak came to an end with a 2-1 loss in their Big Ten home opener against No. 8 Penn State (4-0-0, 10-1-1) at McClimon Soccer Complex Friday.

The Wisconsin volleyball team is now 3-0 in the Big Ten (14-1 overall) for the first time since 2007 after defeating Iowa on Wednesday. The Badgers now hit the road to play No. 10 Nebraska (0-2, 9-2) Saturday night at 7 p.m.
