Spring Practice Notebook: April 2

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers bussed up to Green Bay to see the sites of Lambeau Field and conduct practice next door at The Don Hutson Center, giving them an early look at where they will be playing LSU for the first game of the 2016 season in September. Head coach Paul Chryst used this opportunity to run a lot of scrimmages to get extended looks at his team in 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 situations.

Column: Ringing in a somber spring

Springtime is typically a time of great happiness, especially for sports fans and those of us that have to brave the harsh Wisconsin winters. The weather starts to get nicer, we get to experience the glorious chaos of March Madness, the NHL and NBA playoffs are right around the corner and, best of all, baseball makes its triumphant return, a harbinger of summer in the not-too-distant future. However, this year is a little different for myself and many others.

Wisconsin was prolific on offense, but could not contain Omaha defensively.

Heartbreaking Sweet 16 loss doesn't define Wisconsin's season

No matter how good of a season a team might have, a heartbreaking loss to end the season can stick in the minds of players, coaches and fans alike throughout the entire offseason. That will certainly be the case for Wisconsin this year following its disappointing defeat at the hands of Notre Dame in the Sweet Sixteen.
