About a month ago, a federal judge in opposition of the Dickey-Wicker Amendment put an injunction on President Obama's executive order, which opened embryonic stem cell research to federal funds. The amendment prevents federal funding for any research creating or destroying a human embryo. And now, that injunction was put on hold for further review.

In Tuesday night's primary, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker was officially chosen to represent the Republican Party in November's election. Walker, whose grassroots primary campaign stressed smaller, more responsible government, will now face former Congressman and current Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. According to an average of polls from pollster.com, Walker is currently five points ahead of Barrett and in good position to win the governorship. While Walker is the endorsed Republican candidate in the race, he will be representing much more than just a single political party come this November.
After spending their last two weekends out on the coasts, the Wisconsin men's soccer team is back home to host the Wisconsin Soccer Classic this weekend at the McClimon Complex. The Badgers hope to end their three-game losing streak when they face San Diego State on Friday night and Dayton on Sunday afternoon.
