Remember, friends don’t let friends see ’Just Friends’

The new Ryan Reynolds vehicle 'Just Friends' studies the theme of the 'friend zone' in an in-depth fashion. It looks at that bizarre area where a man and a woman like each other, but their friendship prevents the relationship from advancing any further. Oddly enough, 'Just Friends' exists in this same zone'the movie tries hard to make the audience like it, but as everyone knows, it will never succeed.

Ramis’ latest not a fruitful ’Harvest’

Christmas movies tend to fall into two camps: sappy affairs earnestly celebrating the Yuletide spirit (i.e. 'It's a Wonderful Life,' 'Miracle on 34th Street') and those that use the most stereotypically joyous and romantic of holidays to overtly contrast with their nastier content. ’High School’ teaches reading, writing, ’rithmatic and kung fu

Ryan Gattis' debut novel 'Kung Fu High School,' exploring the story of a high school split into gangs and controlled by a psychotic drug dealer, is as ambitious and fierce as any Jet Li film and even more of a ride. It's a work of fiction that feels almost real, with long paragraphs of tight details putting every drop of blood on the page.
