EITS’s latest effort great for ‘Everyone’

For a band that doesn't use any lyrics—save one song which reproduces a war movie—Explosions in the Sky has a lot to say. Entering the music world in 1999, the Texas-based group built a style of post-rock instrumental pieces that practically induce a meditative state. It's a skill that has carried them through four studio albums and an original film soundtrack (Friday Night Lights) and has now matured for their entrancing yet depressingly-titled effort All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone.

Women’s basketball loses shootout in Iowa

The Wisconsin women's basketball team fell short at Iowa Sunday afternoon, losing their final game of the regular season and Big Ten play 103-93. With the loss, the Badgers (7-9 Big Ten, 18-11) fell into a four-way tie for fifth place in conference standings going into the Big Ten tournament, earning themselves the No. 7 seed.

Williams extends near perfect songs ‘West’ward

It seems like Lucinda Williams has been in a constant process of getting over failed relationships for the last decade, and her latest album hasn't come around to change that—thematically, the songs on West detail Williams' intensely personal attempts to deal with the disappointment of love, which is standard turf for her.
