Badgers get revenge on UIC, advance to next round of NCAA Tournament after 4-1 victory.

Wisconsin has been on a run of revenge, and Thursday night it was a dish best served cold. The Badgers (4-3-1 Big Ten, 11-4-5 overall) continued their five-game winning streak as it knocked off the UIC Flames (6-2-1 Horizon, 11-6-3) with a 4-1 win on a frozen night in McClimon Park to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. All of the teams who Wisconsin beat in the postseason had previously handed UW a defeat.

Big Ten Champions: Badgers party like it's 1995 after thrilling tournament run

Philipp Schilling and the Wisconsin Badgers seem to love penalty shootouts. The senior goalkeeper saved a penalty and scored his own, then senior forward Mark Segbers cooly slotted home his penalty to give the Badgers (4-3-1, Big Ten, 10-4-5 overall) their first Big Ten title since 1995 with the 4-2 win in the shootout over the Indiana Hoosiers (5-0-3, 15-0-5). “Philip and the guys came through in a pressure situation – hats off to them,” head coach John Trask said.

Wisconsin looks to extend Big Ten Tournament run in matchup against Maryland

In one of their last practices before the Wisconsin Badgers men’s soccer team (4-3-1 Big Ten, 8-4-4 overall) travels to College Park to take on the Maryland Terrapins (5-1-2, 10-4-3) in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, it seemed fitting that it was cold and pouring rain. Last time the Terps and Badgers faced off, the Terps won a sloppy 5-4 thriller in Madison to give the Badgers their only home loss of the season.

Badgers settle for tie in sloppy affair with Michigan State

Wisconsin Badgers men’s soccer (3-1-1 Big Ten, 7-2-3 overall) may have kept its 20-game home-unbeaten streak in tact Saturday night, but it didn’t do enough to beat the Michigan State Spartans (3-0-2, 9-1-2), and instead settled with a sloppy 1-1 overtime draw. The Badgers struck first with a goal by senior forward Chris Mueller.

Wisconsin wins 18th consecutive home game after defeating Wright State

It was better late than never for the Wisconsin Badgers (2-1 Big Ten, 5-2-2 overall) men’s soccer team Tuesday night, as Chris Mueller’s free kick ping-ponged through a sea of bodies in the 18-yard box and wound up in the back of the net to give the Badgers a 2-1 comeback win in double overtime against Horizon League opponent Wright State (2-1, 5-4-1).

Wisconsin falls in high scoring contest to Duke

The Wisconsin Badgers men’s soccer team (1-1 Big Ten, 3-2-2 overall) couldn’t quite beat the Duke Blue Devils (1-1 ACC, 5-1-1) in a roller coaster of a game that featured seven goals and two red cards that finished 4-3. The Badgers had great success in the early stages, and made good use of their early possession to get the first two goals.

Wisconsin strikes early to earn first Big Ten win of 2017

Along with free tickets and pizza thanks to the Wisconsin Men’s Soccer’s “Colony Night” event, students were given quite the show by the Badgers (1-1 Big Ten, 2-1-2 overall), as they put three early goals past the Northwestern Wildcats (0-2, 1-5) en route to a 3-1 victory. The Badgers struck first in the fourth minute.
