Coming off of a 0-0 tie and a 1-0 win against Western Illinois and IUPUI respectively at the University of Illinois-Chicago Soccer Classic this past weekend, the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team (2-2-3 overall) looks to continue its winning ways on Friday as it takes on Big Ten foe Penn State (5-1-1 overall) at the McClimon Soccer Complex in the first conference game of the season for both squads.

The No. 13 Wisconsin women’s soccer team (6-1-0 overall) got a late goal in regulation from redshirt sophomore midfielder Kodee Williams and a header from senior midfielder Joana Bielefeld in extra time as the Badgers survived another overtime match, ousting in-state rival University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1-4-1 overall), 2-1, on the road at Engelmann Field. With the victory, the Badgers improved to 6-1-0 for the first time since 2004.

The No. 15 Wisconsin Women's Soccer Team (5-1-0 overall) was able to withstand a late surge in regulation and survived in double-overtime to beat Illinois State (3-2-2 overall), 3-2, at the McClimon Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon to conclude their non-conference home schedule. The Badgers have now started 5-1 for the second straight year.

swept their weekend series' against Purdue (4-5-1, 7-10-2) in a
5-1 win on Friday and a 2-0 win on Sunday against Indiana (2-8,
6-11-1). As a result of these victories, the Badgers secured their
spot in the Big Ten Conference tournament.

coming off its first Big Ten Victory of the season this past
weekend against Penn State and will try to build upon that this
weekend as they travel to the state of Michigan to take on the
Michigan State Spartans (1-0-0 Big Ten, 8-1-0 overall) in East
Lansing on Friday and the Michigan Wolverines (1-0-0 Big Ten, 6-2-1
overall) in Ann Arbor on Sunday.
