The Badgers had just scored, going up 27-0, and a desperate Rutgers looked to drive down the field and stay in a game that was getting out of hand. On the first play, quarterback Gary Nova dropped back and was dropped by redshirt sophomore Vince Biegel, who jumped up, celebrating yet another sack, with his mullet flowing in the wind. Biegel is one of many freshmen and sophomores making plays for the Wisconsin defense.

Wisconsin (0-4-0) continued its rough start this weekend, getting swept by Northern Michigan (2-0-0) in a showdown in Green Bay. The Wildcats took the first game 2-0 and the second 4-1.

No. 10 Wisconsin came up short in their first series of the season, losing 1-0 to Alaska and 4-2 against Alaska-Anchorage in the Kendall Hockey Classic at Anchorage, Alaska. The loss Friday was the first ever by the Badgers (0-2-0) against Alaska (2-0-0), bringing the all-time series to 7-1.

Two hundred and thirty-one. That’s the number of 3-pointers senior guard Ben Brust had in his career, four more than the 227 that was Tim Locum’s team record for 23 years. Record breaking No. 238 came with 3:52 left in overtime in the Elite Eight win against Arizona. This shot put the Badgers up 57-54, forcing the Wildcats’ backs against a wall. Two hundred and twenty-eight couldn’t have come at a better time.
