The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Indigenous Student Center hosted the musical group Bizhiki on Tuesday night for its Native November keynote. After performing, the group then answered questions on their personal guiding principles, their role in language and culture revitalization and advice for young indigenous artists.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison hosted a 85th birthday party for Bucky Badger hosted at the Memorial Union Terrace on Saturday. The celebration began with Bucky at the Overture Center for a kids pep rally before parading with the marching band, cheer squad and dance team from State Street to the Terrace.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Oktoberfest celebration featured traditional Bavarian food, live music and games along with crafts for students and the public to participate in last weekend. Blissful music emerged from the eight tuba players on the union stage, and the Memorial Union restaurants changed their menu offering Pork Schnitzel, Spaetzle and German potato salad.

At approximately 9:17 PM, Milwaukee’s BMO Harris Pavilion came to life with colored lights sweeping across the stage and “Down With The Sickness” by hard rock band Disturbed blaring. The audience responded promptly to this influx of sight and sound, shaking the expansive venue floor with its cheers. Smoke poured from the back of the stage and encroached the tall metal barricade behind which fans writhed in anticipation.
