After a seemingly unceasing offseason, the NFL regular season is finally upon us. It’s an exciting time to be a football fan, as every team boasts at least a few dynamic players and almost every squad has some semblance of playoff hope. Is that the sound of your alarm clock going off for class? It’s that time of the year again. It’s time to open those new notebooks, dust off your backpack and make sure to charge your laptop. Welcome back to a brand new school year, Badgers! Although we are back on our favorite campus, things obviously may be a little different. You may have a different class schedule or you may have some online classes. This year will be a lot different, but everyone is going to be adjusting to a new way of life on campus, but there are things everyone can do to make this year just as memorable as any other.

Abigail Becker, who goes by Abby, is no stranger to the wonders of Vilas Communication Hall. Walking through the old building is like a maze for several students, though there is one familiar room: The Daily Cardinal. There, Becker found camaraderie, respect, fun, learning opportunities and most of all, a community.

Members of Generation Z were born between 1997 and 2012. The average member of Generation Z was just a kindergartner when Apple launched its first iPhone, and they’re the first generation to grow up in a completely digital age. Bringing myself to write this flooded me with heavy emotions, forcing me to think about the countless Black lives lost meaninglessly over the picking and choosing of who deserves human rights. I did not want to write down — making public proof — of the racist interactions I have endured throughout my lifetime.
