Just out of curiosity, do you ever worry about your digital
footprint? I only ask because I noticed you’re a medical student
and I’m pre-med. I’ve heard a lot of things about online privacy
when you’re applying to medical schools (and other kinds of
employment), and I’m just wondering what your thoughts are on this,
since you use your real name and even your picture.

I have always been a huge fan of doughnuts. Every Sunday when I
was a kid, my dad would go out to the grocery store that was
slightly better than Cub but not as good as a legitimate bakery and
buy doughnuts before everyone else woke up. Long Johns with
sprinkles were my thing, and if someone ate it before I woke up,
you can bet they would feel my wrath, which is something akin to
“Apocalypse Now.”

Both the Wisconsin men and women's basketball squads couldn't
hang with Michigan State on Thursday night. The Kohl Center hosted
the women's edition of the budding Big Ten rivalry, and the
Spartans left Madison with an easy 62-46 victory over the
Badgers.

On Feb. 8 at 5:58 p.m., UW-Madison student “Alex Paverson”
checked into Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. Three of Alex’s
Facebook friends saw the post and immediately followed Alex
there.

Over the past two weeks, the Wisconsin women's basketball team
has shown that it can hang with any Big Ten team for 40 minutes,
home or away. But against Iowa at the Kohl Center Thursday, it was
the overtime period that did the Badgers in.

Ever since I entered the college world, my four year-old self
has resurfaced.

As the 2011-'12 college hockey season prepares for its stretch,
the postseason pictures across the country are beginning to take
shape.

There is great suffering in our world. To pretend that you, or
others aren't suffering at some points in time is to gloss over the
realities of life. We all wish for a world without pain, but a
world without suffering is a world without life. I accept this
notion, but I reject the "suffering" projected by certain political
and ideological interests.

Way back in the 1990s, in indie rock days of yore, few bands
commanded as much reverence and devotion as Guided By Voices.
Hailing from Dayton, Ohio, GBV were less a band than a collective,
purveyors and devotees to a genre of indie rock called lo-fi: Songs
were recorded cheaply-no studio gloss of which to speak-and with a
"do it and move on" attitude. Tape fuzz was omnipresent.

For most people, the holidays are the most joyous time of year.
They are time spent with family, and time spentpracticing of
close-held traditions. Putting up the Christmas tree and lights,
leaving cookies and milk out for Santa Claus and waking up early on
Christmas morning to see what he left you. But, for student
athletes such as members of the Wisconsin men’s hockey team, the
holidays are a bit different from more traditional
festivities.

I am currently sitting in my bedroom, staring out the window
wondering a few things. First, why is there no snow on the
ground? I want a white fluffy winter wonderland, not that
unappealingly grey stage between autumn colors and wintery
awesomeness. Second, why is it dark at 4:45 p.m.? I don’t know
why this surprises me so much every year, but I also don’t know why
daylight saving time can’t be a permanent change. And third, can I
get out of this last week of school if I jump out the window and
break my legs?

It was far from pretty, but the Wisconsin men’s basketball team
(8-2 overall) team finally picked up the non-conference win it
needed as it defeated UNLV (9-2) 62-51 Saturday.

It is hard to believe such serious guidelines underlie the
comparatively light-hearted atmosphere of Blue Lotus. Overhearing
banter between owner Rob Beyer and tattoo artists Seneca Marks and
Noah MacDonald could easily make clients forget they are in fact at
a tattoo shop and not a comedy club.

Rockstar Gomeroke is all about the dark stage, the illuminating
lights and friends hanging out to hear you sing your favorite song
with the Gomers, a local band.

If you’re like me, you’ve recently seen your Internet use change
from taking care of your Neopet and masturbating on Chatroulette to
looking for Christmas gifts for your loved ones. I’ve got some
useful insight on the season of giving that will make your holiday
shopping easier than procrastinating for finals.

The Wisconsin women’s basketball team (4-5 overall) overcame
poor shooting and rebounding efforts in the first half against St.
Louis (2-6) but came back and managed to hang onto a 48-46 victory
at the Kohl Center.

The Wisconsin men's basketball team (6-1 overall) suffered their
first blemish on the season Wednesday night in the finale of the
Big Ten-ACC Challenge, losing to the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels
60-57. They now turn their attention to Saturday's matchup with
in-state rival Golden Eagles as they welcome No 16. Marquette (6-0)
to the Kohl Center.
