Even though Amanda Bynes holds the entire two hours of She's the
Man\ together because of her humorous antics and quick comments,
the ridiculous storyline makes it garbage.

As midterms pile up and finals creep closer, finding a place
free of distractions for studying is essential. Many of the popular
options such as College Library, Memorial Library and the variety
of coffee shops are widely known and used by students. Still, there
are numerous places that go unknown because they are kept a secret
or just because this place is so damn big.

The concept of freedom of speech dominated the UW System Board
of Regents' agenda at its March meeting, as Regents approved a
measure allowing UW resident assistants to hold political and
religious gatherings in their rooms.

City dwellers have known for decades that those living in
crowded, urban areas need to deal with several distinct annoyances:
heavy traffic on the streets, loud noises outside the window and
cockroaches infesting the indoors.

As agents of a public university, housefellows should not have
to give up their right to lead or participate in events such as
religious gatherings. The existing policy has recently come under
fire in regards to housefellows holding Bible studies in their dorm
rooms. We believe that the newly proposed amendments to this policy
will reconcile private rights with public regulations.

College life is one of the most disorganized, fast-paced,
busiest and craziest lifestyles. When you are running around as
much as UW-Madison students, it can be challenging to grab a bite
to eat'let alone a healthy or home-cooked one.

Running for the Dane County Board of Supervisors has provided
several students the distinct advantage of learning first-hand how
political campaigns work. Congratulations must be given to Ashok
Kumar: The frontrunner in last Tuesday's primary election not only
ran away with the vote, but mastered the difficult campaign tactics
of sleaze and bullying from the shadier side of politics.

***BEEP BEEP BEEP*** A loud noise goes off. Most sane people
would realize this is the time to wake up.

Drawing outside attention to the campus Coastie phenomenon, the
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel printed Megan Twohey's article, 'The
Great 'Coastie ' Divide' in Nov. 2005. Twohey never mentioned that
it was once more common on our campus to refer to the Ugg crowd
from New York, New Jersey, California and Illinois as JAPs (Jewish
American Princesses). Maybe Twohey felt the issue was irrelevant or
never considered it. That's an odd omission. If Coastie is in fact
another way of saying JAP, the 'Coastie Divide' hints at more than
a difference in style.

The Langdon Street area was once the heart of UW-Madison student
activity. While the construction of off-campus apartments and
dormitories has shifted some of the focus away from Langdon Street
fraternities and sororities, the neighborhood is still alive and
well.

Sitting in the dimly lit study room during finals week is a girl
frantically searching through her bag, her brown hair falling in
front of her face as she desperately empties its contents onto the
table. She is looking for the one thing she needs to study: her
pills.

Most of you reading this column right now are UW-Madison
students, and like me, you probably keep quiet when your friends
from back home talk about how difficult college classes are. You
don't need anybody to tell you how smart you are, especially not
somebody who is attending Stout or Oshkosh.

From Feb. 10 to 26 many UW-Madison students will sit in the
comfort of their apartments or dorm rooms and watch the 2006
Olympic Games. While many will simply admire the athletes, some may
dream of one day getting to be there and experience all the
Olympics have to offer. For UW-Madison students Carly Piper, Adam
Mania and Maureen Brunt, this dream is a reality.

The Badger Baloney is obviously fake news'merely a satirical
commentary on life in Madison. Except in the case of public
figures, the people are not real.
