After weather setbacks, Nicholas Recreation Center to open in Fall 2020

The Nicholas Recreation Center is set to open at the start of fall 2020, according to the university. 

The ‘Nick' experienced significant delays in construction due to weather and construction challenges. Due to these obstacles, the ‘Nick’ did not open in January 2020, as previously announced. 

RecWell is collaborating with University Health Services to incorporate a ‘well-being’ department into the new facility that will include mental health consultations and mindfulness activities. 

The new facility has come in significantly under budget, giving the possibility to return millions of dollars to the UW System.
