Dane County Regional Airport announced on Tuesday the addition of five non-stop destinations, including direct flights from Madison to Nashville, Boston, Newark, Seattle and Portland.

The airport, established in the 1920s, currently offers 19 direct flights to various locations across the country.

According to Dane County Executive Joe Parisi, this is the largest expansion that the regional airport has ever undergone.

“We look forward to providing so many new, seasonal flight locations,” Parisi said

All of the new routes are being flown by Sun Country Airlines, a U.S. operating, ultra-low-cost corporation

The airline has undergone a dramatic transformation since last year.

Sun Country added free in-flight entertainment and upgraded their planes’ interiors over the past year, the Wisconsin State Journal reported. Additionally, Sun Country established a new mobile-friendly website.

“We’ve seen a great response to our seasonal winter service and feel that our brand is a great fit for area travelers,” said Sun Country Airlines CEO Jude Bricker. “We look forward to growing and working with our great partners at the Dane County Airport.”

As far as pricing goes, a one-way fare to Nashville is as low as $69, and as low as $79 to Boston and Newark. One-way tickets to Seattle-Tacoma and Portland start at $99. All of these flights will occur twice a week, according to Dane County Regional Airport.

Nashville and Boston departures will begin on May 7, 2020 and departures to Newark and Seattle will begin May 8. Portland flights will begin June 3.
