University of Wisconsin assistant basketball coach Howard Moore was involved in a car accident Saturday in Michigan, tragically killing his wife and daughter, according to the Michigan State Police.
Moore and his son, Jerrell, survived, although the severity of their injuries remain unclear.
A vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman was going the wrong way on M-14/Ford Road early Saturday morning, causing a multiple vehicle crash, according to the report. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash claimed the lives of Moore’s wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Jaidyn.
Moore previously played for UW from 1990 through 1995. Moore has served as an assistant coach for the Badgers since 2015.
