Construction worker dies after fall at Madison site

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man who died shortly after suffering a fall while working at a Madison construction site.

The medical examiner said 24-year-old Alexander Kanouse of Columbus, Wisconsin died as a result of falling from a “significant height.” Police said he fell from the fourth floor of an east Madison construction site Thursday.

When emergency services arrived, he was “bleeding profusely” from a head wound. Paramedics took him to the hospital, where he died shortly after. Police notified agents from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, who are assisting with the investigation.
